Installing Neeps & Tatties system

Download 020726.zip (7 Megs) into a temporary directory (e.g. ziptemp).
Other tools... bdeadmin.exe, unzip.exe
Unzip the files
Execute setup.exe and follow the instructions. This sets up the Borland Database engine and creates several templates and executables in a new directory (\DelNeeps by default).
Create a shortcut to neeps.exe (if you want to).
Delete the temporary directory & contents (if you want to).

Forms for use within Napier University
event4.xls
Specify the requirements for each event. All departments submitting data on paper should use this form.
ev-ev4.xls
Specify event-event restrictions - this form would be used if you required groups of particular events to occur at the same time for example. Most users do not require this form.
service4.xls
This form is to be used when requesting service teaching from another department. Be sure to use the student codes given on form student4 or short4 exactly.
short4.xls
This form allows you to specify "shorthand" codes for student groups of students, most users will not need to do this.
staff4.xls
Identify the staff teaching in the department. Staff should be given a short code - usually initials - the short codes must be unique. The full name of the member of staff should also be specified. If this data has been submitted for a previous session you need only indicate the staff changes.
student4.xls
Identify the student group names used and show any restrictions of availability. All departmental users must complete these forms for their own students only.
